[exactly what they'd feared had come to pass. lili and ookurikara had run for the mess hall so quickly upon hearing the announcement, and flayn can't blame them. she'd been too slow to keep up, but... she wants to go and find them now.
eventually, she checks the kitchen, and there he is. she hesitates in the doorway.]
...
[she doesn't know what to say. but she's worried, nonetheless.]
[ kara isn't a sword for nothing. it's obvious that someone is here, hovering at the door, and he knows exactly why. all the same, he doesn't particularly want to talk, so he. doesn't even turn to face her. she'll have to make the first move. ]
[that's fair and valid. flayn can't really blame him for not wanting to talk.
after another moment, she steps fully into the kitchen, then immediately goes to find what she needs for tea. she may not know exactly what to say, but she can at least do this.]
is kara angrily cooking in the kitchen again, or somewhere else? flayn will come and find him, regardless, but how she approaches will differ based on where he is.]
[ he's a little too keyed up for cooking so soon after the trial - so instead, kara is the sports court, flinging himself through practice moves as if fighting an opponent no one else can see. when flayn spots him from a distance, it looks like he's wielding two swords at once. but if she comes any closer, she'll see that it is just an empty sheath, in his left hand, though there is a second sword at his hip.
he won't acknowledge her until she speaks, though, or until he finishes the set. her choice, really. ]
[After some time has passed and they've all had a chance to investigate stuff -
Flayn comes looking for Ookurikara! (Well. She's also looking for Lili, but she knows that whatever he learns, she'll learn too. Two birds with one stone!)
Although, unfortunately, once she sees him she's going to go up on her tiptoes to try and reach up to pat his head.]
...I think it may have been because of where I spent the night. [don't worry about it] At any rate... I saw something near the lake today. I thought you might want to know.
[this week is definitely going to be something else. when flayn spots ookurikara, she raises a hand in greeting and is about to call out a hello - only to make eye contact with him.
the next moment, he's viewing a memory as if he's running through a hallway. the details of his surroundings are blurry - this memory is from a long time ago, and even now, she can't quite recall it clearly. but the long, green-haired woman up ahead is much more in focus.
flayn's voice comes out when he feels himself speak.
the woman looks startled, then concerned. "What's wrong?!"
a pause, and kara's point of view shifts to the side before he tugs down on a piece of fabric that's been pulled up and over his chin. something almost scale-like brushes against his fingertips, and the green-haired woman's eyes light up with excitement.
"Is this your first transformation? Does your father know??"
"No! Don't tell him! It's so embarrassing!"
there's a brief flash of flayn's face, reflected in a mirror that was standing somewhere behind the woman, as she tries to pull away from the woman's hands - scales have formed along her neck, creeping up her face, and her teeth are sharper than they ought to be.
a moment later, the memory ends, and flayn's frozen up. oops.]
[ - ah. it startles him, suddenly launched into another's memory. he never had to deal with this before, and he has no idea how to react. by the time it ends, he blinks at flayn, frowning as he tries to understand what just happened. ]
[where is he? i don't know, flayn doesn't know, but she's going to keep looking until she can find him! so. once she does, she'll immediately get right into it. she looks a little apprehensive, and a lot guilty.]
Do you have a moment? There is something I need to tell you.
I owe you an apology, for what happened at the trial. After you started arguing, I attempted to use my power to fix it, but - I think I only succeeded in making things more complicated.
[she doesn't step inside, but she keeps her voice quiet.]
If, by some chance, I face you tomorrow - you may take my head. Lili needs you. [...] And I will instruct the others not to bother with attempting to avenge me.
w0, wednesday
She's waiting for him at the kitchen at the agreed-upon time, and she looks determined.]
Hello, Ookurikara! Thank you very much for this.

Boil the water first, then we'll add the rice.
[ and as he starts pulling things out of the cabinets: ]
How much do you already know about cooking? We can go from there.
