[ most of yin yu is sure this kind of happiness can't last. even if they weren't in a camp where murder was the end goal, even if they both do somehow manage to survive this place and make it out, making it out is... still to two separate places. it's a barely snatched joy, and one that his own failings won't let him forget.
...but, he's trying to live just a little more in the present moment. even if this happiness is fleeting, it's there, and when things are dark, it will be something to hold on to.
he's flushed too, but the smile on his face lingers when they make eye contact, small, gentle, genuine. ] I agree.
[ flayn is his favorite person to work with, in this camp, by far. spending time with her makes every day just a little bit better. it's selfish of him to take this, isn't it?
...but just a little longer. just a little more light. just a little longer to soak up this genuine warmth, this affection, this kindness.
yin yu had forgotten what it was like to be happy--when this ends, he will struggle to forget, again. ]
