[he reaches for her arm on instinct once his own surprised yell is done, trying to pull her closer through the empty air. unfortunately for the both of them, i rolled a four, so the closest he gets is his hand brushing her sleeve.
he tries to speak over the sound of the air rushing past them.]
[he looks around as well, trying desperately to tell if he can make out anything to grab onto or at least to see how far down the ground is, but no dice. either way, once she holds onto him, it makes it easier for him to do the same, so now they're at least falling together! yay.]
They didn't prepare all of this just to drop us to our deaths. I'm sure there's going to be something.
[the jury's out on whether he's saying that for her benefit or his, but anyways.]
[it feels like a long time as they keep going, but - at least neither of them are looking at the ground when it rushes up to meet them. it's probably less terrifying that way.
once they hit the ground and black out, though, and as soon as they're aware again in the hallway:]
[the ones he is Still Assuming will be here soon!!]
Did you have, like... weekly activities during either of the groups you've been in before? Kazunari said he wondered if they might come during that, if we have any of those.
Hmm... not that I can recall from the first, but we did have things happen during the middle of the week in the second... was that the case for you as well?
Yeah! And there were people there to help run it when we had that, so... Maybe it'll be the same here, even if that means we might need to wait a while.

If there is that much ground to cover, then no one ought to go alone. We may as well explore!

she squints.]
...how high up are we? I cannot even see the ground!

[there is no good way to make this situation less terrifying, but he's going to Try regardless.]

[she will look at the walls
in vain, because nothing will appear for them to catch themselves on. nothing at all. they will just eventually splat.]

once they hit the ground and black out, though, and as soon as they're aware again in the hallway:]
—Are you alright?!
no subject
I am fine. [...] Are you? What a thoroughly unpleasant experience...
no subject
[he's sore, but he also expected to be dead, so it's a positive for him.]
Do you need help getting up...? I mean, take your time, obviously, but.
no subject
[she just wants to stay on solid ground for a bit...
okay, no, she'll sit up.]
Are all the doors like that, do you think?
no subject
[he sighs.]
You think that's their idea of entertainment?
no subject
[given the sorts of situations they'd been pulled from before coming here... yeah...]
no subject
[bad! he's angy.]
no subject
[she is also angy]

[they've only been here a few days, after all.]
