They tried to, at the first trial. Black Shadows was willing to try and take on whatever the punishment would have been - they had no way of knowing how that would turn out.
Even so, they're complicit in playing along as much as we are. That board of questions said they had their own rules to follow, too.
[ yin yu is very slow to trust, though the directors have been mostly helpful, so far. it doesn't seem like they want to be harmful, but appearances can be deceiving. ] It's best to try and solve this as much as we can on our own.
