I don't want to make you talk about anything uncomfortable... But I just don't understand what sort of conditions had to be met to save people.

...from what I understand, the island's curse had settled itself particularly strongly within one of us. His job was to make sure the rest of us spilled the amount of blood that was needed for a ritual. But... he was discovered, and when he was killed, the curse was broken.

That was when those of us who had been killed already were revived.

Doesn't that make it seem like rebelling against the rules imposed on us is what would actually help us get out?

Hmm... I am not certain. In our case, it was less rebelling against the rules and more determining the curse's origin.

Does that mean you found out who started the curse to begin with? Before you had even arrived?

I don't know if it was a who so much as it was... the majority of the curse had settled itself within him when he arrived with the rest of us.

I would have wondered if it was simply some sort of trick, but others who had succumbed to the curse even before we arrived were set free.

Yes. ...I suppose it may be possible that this is an extension of that curse, but... that does not explain why all of you are here.

I don't think that this place is an extension of that curse or anything...

But it seems like even the places that got some kind of better ending - didn't actually do that much. They just made it out.
