[He rubs at the side of his face which is blossoming an impressive shade of purple along the cheekbone.]
You never know where evidence is gonna turn up, though. We ended up with knives randomly flying into the trial on request, so taking a swim doesn't sound too crazy.
Someone used a favor for a hint [spoilers, it was him] and the hint was just the gods sending us knives that someone had thrown out into the clouds in an attempt to get rid of them.
I guess they were stuck in an endless drop or something, because when we got them back, it just... rained knives onto a few of us.
If something happens, we'll take care of it as best as we can, right?
Akira got cursed this last trial to think differently about 45, even though they're friends. We helped them work around it as best we could. That's what we'll keep doing.
Yeah, I don't think it was meant as a trap at all.
From what the god said when he pulled them in the first place, they weren't able to deliver them in a better manner due to the rules of the trial. My guess is that the guy who was responsible had just thrown them off the edge of the temple as an easy way to keep anyone from finding them without using special items or favors.

At least that makes it sound less like a stunt meant to get someone killed by happenstance.
[ like these gods were fighting, right? what was stopping them from dropping the knives on someone they didn't like. ]
