[I guess he did say pencil her in for Monday, but Taako isn't really wasting time digging into the kitchen supplies available in here - rattling about in the cabinets and flicking burners on and off. If Flayn wanders in he'll actually look up.]
[She does indeed wander in, having found a change of clothes in her cabin. She isn't much interested in food from a buffet, so she's actually pretty relieved when she sees Taako.]
The kitchen here is rather different from the one I am used to, but... it will work, will it not?
[Taako . . . hasn't actually changed, because he's actually find with booty shorts and birkenstocks, but he has added a large wizard's hat. This is his casual outfit.]
Like I said, I can make anything work. I wouldn't call it five stars and I'm, y'know, loathe to give any credit to kidnappers, but it's not terrible. Functional anyway. I'm sure I'll find complaints if you give me a minute.
Well, the stove is right next to the sink, which is going to be a pain in the ass for proper mise en place, you know? Prep work really needs a great deal of counterspace and they've set it up all wrong.
But I'm not going to go easy on you. Exactly the same rules as when my Aunt taught me: no whining, no crying, no cheating with magic, and no asking Lup to save you.
So you should know the basic rules of cooking. Um, what did she say . . . Fuck, this was like, two centuries ago— [Pausing.] Um. One century ago.
Hm. Always use a sharp knife. Fat is good. Add too much salt to the pasta water, then add more. Hard herbs go in first, soft herbs go in last. Learn the recipe, then throw it away. Rules are for suckers. Cook your favorite things forever.
Pfft-- Wow. Cheesy.
Anyway, my only important rule is that I'm the boss and I'm always right.
[She wishes she had something to write this down with. Alas, she does not, so she's just going to have to try her best to commit this to memory, so she repeats after him under her breath.
[ONWARD. she goes rummaging through the kitchen and produces the ingredients he asks for! she doesn't know exactly where it is, so it's a little slower than it would be done by someone who was already familiar with the place, but it's probably fine.]
[WELL, THEY'RE... ALIVE... THERE'S THAT... THAT'S A PLUS...
fever aside, though, a man is still dead! well. a sword. man. whatever, he was a sentient being, the specifics don't matter. luckily, an elf is not dead. wherever taako happens to be (are they still outside in the rain?), flayn calls out to him.]
