[ that comment makes the little hearth he's come to associate with flayn in his chest flicker with light, throwing warmth on his entire being. he's come to recognize what this is now, and has done his best to tame it and set it away, but that light refuses to be extinguished. it baffles him that flayn thinks so much of him - when was the last time he was good company for anyone? when was the last time he was company, period, short of attending hua chengzhu every now and then? - but it's a feeling maybe he could start to get used to. maybe.
he ducks his head, looking down into his teacup, shoulders hunching a little, like he's not sure how to accept such a kind comment. (he's not). but, yin yu glances up at her after a moment, and says, softly, ] ...It was fun. I'm glad, too.
I promise I won't betray you again. [ but, that comes with a soft huff of a laugh, poking gently at himself. a little more normal. ]
If being betrayed by you leads to more moments like these, you can betray me all you like.
[...she's just saying. she really doesn't mind how this "betrayal" has turned out at all - though, she muses over that as she sips at her tea.

Though perhaps, having just given you permission to do so, anything you do would not count as a betrayal. I suppose now it is impossible for you to betray me.
flayn's utter kind honesty with such things is bad for yin yu's blood pressure. moments like these, huh... he has to forcibly shove all of those emotions backwards to keep himself from reacting any further, biting the inside of his cheek to keep himself from smiling. it fails. this is ridiculous. ]
...I wouldn't otherwise betray you, my lady, so, perhaps... we can make such moments without any betrayals at all.
[ yin yu is trying to reach out to flayn just to spend time with her at least a little more often. friendship is unfamiliar, after all this time, especially with someone like her for someone like him, but... tentatively, slowly, he's opening up to it more.

yin yu is quiet, content just to bask in it, for a tiny moment of peace in all of the chaos. ]
the sooner her cup runs out, the sooner she'll lose her excuse to stay sitting here with him. so although she'd like another few sips of tea, she keeps her cup on the table.
if they don't finish their drinks, he won't have to leave.
(in retrospect, it will be obvious to her, later, just what she was trying to accomplish here - but right now, she doesn't quite realize it. it's just one of those moments that will mean everything to her when she looks back on it.)]
