Perhaps... not quite. It is common to refer to one's carbuncle by the gemstone which they were created from, but other than that, I've not named it.

Hello there, Moonstone. It is very nice to meet you!

[ Uncomfortable? Never. With a pleased trill, the carbuncle abandons the cookie for the time being in order to press its head against her hand, not unlike a cat wanting for affection. ]

I do believe it feels similarly, not that it is ever one to turn down fine company.
